Passionate.

What advice would you give to the next generation of female leaders?

Stay true to who you are as a female leader—it is okay to be firm, fair, and passionate as a female in leadership. Similarly, we as a female leader should demonstrate grit, determination, and having a strong voice in the room and around tables. While some may view a vocal presence as negative, it is necessary and needed to have a female lens.

If you could have one superpower what would it be?

If I could have one superpower it would be that of being biliterate. I am so envious of those that can communicate in written and verbal form in multiple languages.

How do you measure success?

I measure success by how I impact others. What is the difference I am making in the lives of others, whether that be with students, staff, or families.

I am empowered by my community of learners at Barge-Lincoln Elementary. The students and community we serve are resilient, persevere, and demonstrate grit on a daily basis and that fuels me. If I have students who come to school having had police presence in the home the following evening and those students can come to school ready and eager to learn, I can do this work! I love my job. I love our learners. Barge is the best school around!
