Today we celebrate Vio Force! YWCA Yakima is on a mission to empower women. #52women52weeks was created to celebrate and highlight the amazing women & #SHEros in the #yakimavalley. We are proud to share more about Vio Force.
What is one word that describes you perfectly?
Godliness/Love.
What advice would you give to the next generation of female leaders?
The most important thing to have in this world and life is God because He can make your whole life balanced and guide you through every low and deep valley and guide you to every high mountain top that you will experience in this life. There is nothing compared to the love, beauty, grace, peace, and strength God gives so that you can help others as you help yourself. You must first get in a system of healing before you can help anyone else. Make sure you have a real relationship with God, read the Bible and pray. Ask God to help you connect with a couple people to support you and join support groups. Always get frequent mental health and physical health counseling. Drink lots of water and eat more vegetables and fruit than anything else, and make yourself get good sleep/rest and have FUN in this life. But most of all, read the Bible, pray (talk with God), always love life, have hope and faith no matter how ugly and dark life gets because it will get ugly and dark. No matter how bad things get, rest if you must but, Don’t You Quit. Love and trust God and Keep moving on FORWARD. LOVE LIFE!!!!!
What makes you happy?
God, life, my kids, music, the beach, having fun, writing, drawing, singing, doing hair and makeup, work/business, comedy, and loving and talking with people.
How do you measure success?
Success is when someone truly loves and follows God and does all He has for them to do or be, and not do their own thing so they can say they kept the faith and finished their race.
What historical event inspires you the most?
God, loving us so much He gave us Jesus, His only son, who gave us His life so we could live with Him forever!!! And the Civil Rights Movement/Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
What is your favorite quote and why?
I think quotes are like songs so I don’t have a favorite one but one of my favorites is a poem my first pastor Elder Bibles quoted all the time, called “DON’T QUIT”, and one line I love is “REST IF YOU MUST, BUT DON’T YOU QUIT!!!”
