What is one word that describes you perfectly? Judicious
What advice would you give to the next generation of female leaders?
I once heard a speaker say “you don’t have to dim another woman’s lightbulb to make yours shine” and I thought that was a great and simple way of reminding people that there are places where everyone can shine if they have the space to do so. The advice I would give to the next generation of female leaders would be to lead by example and know that you don’t have to knock someone else down so that you can succeed.
What makes you happy?
I’m a pretty happy and an easy-going person so lots of things make me happy. My husband, daughters (6 & 3 ½), friends, my job, being outside, seeing other people happy, new shoes, marshmallows, a good night sleep, bamboo pj’s, the list could go on and on…
How do you measure success? In my job the definition of “success” changes on a case-by-case basis so I measure success by how I feel at the end of the case and if I have learned anything new or grown from the experience. I may not “win” a case in the traditional sense but if I know that I did everything as well as I could have then I feel there was some success.
What is your favorite quote and why?
One of my favorite quotes is “Things work out best for those who make the best of how things work out.” -John Wooden. I firmly believe that attitude and perspective make a huge difference in our lives, our experiences, and in our interactions with people. We can’t control the world around us, but we can control how we interact and experience the world.
