Today we celebrate Reyna Barajas! YWCA Yakima is on a mission to empower women. #52women52weeks was created to celebrate and highlight the amazing women & #SHEros in the #yakimavalley. We are proud to share more about Reyna..
What is one word that describes you perfectly?
What advice would you give to the next generation of female leaders?
As women we are strong, incredibly capable, and competent and we need to lift each other up and be open to mentorship. Remaining vulnerable and approachable will help cultivate a peer network to help in times of need and provide the platform for collaboration.
What makes you happy?
My husband and daughters. Watching them all grow professionally and personally and that I’ve been there through their journey makes me honored to be a part of their lives.
How do you measure success?
I measure success by living a balanced life. Fulfilling my commitments as a wife, mother, daughter, sister, and colleague help me keep my cup half full. Sharing the knowledge with others gives me the greatest satisfaction.
What is your favorite quote and why?
This quote by MLK Jr. keeps me going because even when situations arise that seem too difficult any small action is improvement and keeps me moving in the right direction.
If you can’t fly, then run.
If you can’t run, then walk.
If you can’t walk, then crawl, But by all means, keep moving.
-Martin Luther King Jr.
