What is one word that describes you perfectly?

Proactive. I make things happen, I don’t wait around for them to happen to me.

What advice would you give to the next generation of female leaders?
Be brave. Don’t let societal standards set your bar, go out and break the glass ceiling.

What makes you happy?

Seeing women support women.

How do you measure success?

Society has portrayed what success must look like amongst women. I encourage you to set your own goals. What do YOU want in life? I measure my success off of the goals I set for myself not by what society tells me I should or shouldn’t be doing.

What historical event inspires you the most?

I’m not inspired by any one historical event. The American Dream is defined by which equality of opportunity is available to any American, allowing the highest aspirations and goals to be achieved. Race is not mentioned and neither is sex. I think we all need to remember that.

What is your favorite quote and why?

“My mom said to me, ‘You know sweetheart, one day you should settle down and marry a rich man.’ I said, ‘Mom, I am a rich man.'” – Cher
I love this quote because Cher illustrates perfectly that we as women do not need to ride on coattails to become successful or be looked at as successful. We can be successful on our own.
