• The 30th Leadership Luncheon

Join us on Tuesday, May 14th for our 30th Annual Leadership Luncheon, presented by Legends Casino and Hogback Development! Our speaker for this year is former Seattle Seahawks player and Co-Founder of Evergreen Golf Club, Jermaine Kearse. Funds raised from ticket sales, donations and sponsorships help YWCA Yakima continue to provide and expand domestic violence programs and improve health and safety for women, children, and families.

  • Help is Always Available

No matter the time of the day, trained advocates are ready to answer your call. Our helpline is prepared to answer a variety of questions about your options, safety, how to access our safe shelter, our other programs, and community resources. Friends and family who are concerned about how to support a friend who they think is experiencing domestic violence are welcome to call.

  • Love Should Not Hurt

Domestic violence goes beyond being physical. There are typically five main types of domestic violence, though they can overlap and meld together, making it confusing for a victim to understand exactly what’s happening. An abuser may use the following types of abuse to control a victim: Physical Abuse, Psychological/Emotional/Verbal Abuse, Sexual Abuse, Financial Abuse, and Spiritual Abuse.
